October 22, 2023 - 2/2 and 8 years on from the first when I did think it needed more time though other reports were that it would not get better. Sticky cork. Decanted for some fine sediment. This was a why-I-drink-wine bottle. It's finally lost the puppy fat of the 2015 bottle. Absolutely glorious and frankly better than most CdPs I have had of late. A focussed plush deep raspberry on the nose with warm earth & garrigue. The richness carries beautifully with no overripe or dead fruit tones, despite the 14.5%abv. A long and savoury finish. To be hyper-critical, it lacks complexity, but this isn't a wine for contemplation; it's a wine to lose oneself in. Sadly my last one.

February 20, 2016 - A bit alcoholic with kirsch flavors, but that's okay for a cold winter day. A feral aroma to the nose initially, but it blows off with aeration. Very spicy wine with a refreshing juicy style and decent acidity. Not as rich and polished as the younger Janasse Terre d'Argile 2010 tasted alongside, but this has more character and I like it just the same. Probably at peak now and won't get better.- 91 points

May 20, 2015 - Pretty opaque. Nose of garrigue and cherry. Touch of kirsch on the palate; fruity too. Very silky mouthfeel; no real tannins. Long finish. Quite powerful, though not heavy. A bit monolithic at this stage. Overall, impressive polish and speaks of place, but just not that interesting.

January 18, 2014 - Delicious Cotes du Rhone, shows it CdP pedigree, garrigue cherry leather and all, nice balance, delicious, drink up!

November 27, 2013 - Cannot get much better than this for a CDR Reserve. As previously noted, more of a CDP than a CDR. Simply awesome. Drank with grilled t-bone pepper steak. Perfect.
