November 21, 2012 - I want to echo Yipen, smphelps, and my original tasting note. If I opened this hoping for a nice example of new world chardonnay I would be a bit disappointed. But, since I originally opened this expecting a an over priced over-oaked, buttery, domestic chardonnay that paled in comparison to a Chablis costing half the price of the Wright bottle, I was delighted to find something that surprised my expectation an met me with something that peaked my interest throughout the entire drinking experience. While I wouldn't put this up against a well made white burgundy, I'd happily pay $27 for this over-the-hill chardonnay compared to the typical $40 domestic chardonnay anytime. This was my second and last bottle of the 2006 and I was saving it for a special occasion. My good buddy was on the outs with his girl and requested a chardonnay so I popped it, otherwise i'd have hung on to it and continued to look forward to a future drinking experience.

April 27, 2012 - First bottle since the summer of 2009, and this has clearly gone over the hill. Now a golden tan and picking up weight in the sense of a less elegant more desert style presentation. Honey, brown sugar, caramel dominates over residual fruit and the acidity, which was always slightly lacking, is gone completely. Interesting to see the development, but the younger version was better.

April 23, 2012 - Not much fruit but some spice and butterscotch. not too oaky but you can taste oak in it. not really a Cali or French style. One of a kind.

January 13, 2012 - Very nice, but showing quite a bit of age. Dark gold color and a definite butterscotch flavor. Lovely wine, but if this bottle is representative I wouldn't hold these too much longer.

January 13, 2012 - There was an element on the nose and the initial taste that reminds me of Sauternes yet without the risidual sugar. I've been on a Chardonnay kick this week and this offering tastes completely different from the cakebread, the New Zealand Kerner and the
Domaine Jacob white burgundy I've had this week. This Chardonnay stands out as being both unique but also odd in that every time I took a sip I felt line I was imbibing a desert wine without the desert wine sugar...
