  August 3, 2014 - Popped and poured. Dark purple color. Ripe, dark blueberry and blackberry fruit on the nose along with a bit of white pepper and some vanilla and toasty oak. More dark fruit on the palate along with a bit of peppered beef jerky but the ripe, jammy fruit is definitely the dominant flavor. Medium acid and tannins with a smooth mouthfeel and finish. No detectable heat from the alcohol even though this wine is pushing 15%. This would do better as a delicious post meal sipping wine as opposed to being served with food, at least for my palate. Still, a very nice wine.
