May 1, 2024 - 2020 vintage. Appearance is a little syrupy - dark with a lot of extract on the sides of the glass.

Fruity nose and a bit of oaky something there as well.

Palate is plush fresh fruit. Alcohol seems high and lacks the acidity required to hold everything in check. Tannins dry the mouth quite abruptly and there’s not much of a finish. I think this needs food to tame it a bit. Have another bottle that I will try with roast lamb.

May mellow with age I guess but currently not a fan.

July 29, 2023 - Black currants, blueberry soup, oak, vanilla, eucalyptus, spices, and alcohol. Large, fresh dark fruit with fine tannins. Perhaps a bit low on acidity for my taste, but still nicely balanced, the oak might stand out a bit, and there's a slight hint of high alcohol. But overall, a good wine for the price.

December 10, 2022 - Primary. Plenty of black fruit and cassis. Waiting will be rewarded.

November 27, 2022 - Appears as deep purple with deminished intensity at the rim.
Herbal expressions of eucalyptus and menthol are present on the nose. The fruit inhabits the black spectrum highlighting black cherry and blackcurrant. Vanillin oak rounds out the aromas, the characteristics in decending order of impact are herbal, fruit then oak.The nose is of medium intensity.
The herbal notes seem to have retreated into the background as the fruit headlines the palate. Bursting with flavours of cherry and mulberry that sweep the senses, as do the mouth drying gum tingling tannins. The flavours are full and ripe, just barely tipping over into a slight cooked note on the finish. There is also a faint spicy note, presumably oak derived.
All in all a good to very good medium bodied wine, with the flavour intensity a highlight.
Surprisingly, I find it can be drunk now. While the tannins are firm and astringent, the prominence of the fruit acts to balance and compensate.
It will no doubt develop and improve with further time in bottle, but It's more open and expressive as a young wine than many other vintages from this label.
Responded well to decanting, opening up nicely after a couple of hours.
