May 11, 2024 - Takes almost 3 hours to open up and warm from cellar temperature, but is worth the wait. Black cherry, red berries, spices, earth and floral notes on the nose. Medium bodied (13.8% ABV) with black cherry along with brighter red berries upfront, adding darker notes through the middle. Plum notes towards the back are distinct and there's noticeably more depth than the 2019. Spice notes, tart red cherry and acidity provide structure and balance on the back and they are both in better balance with the fruit and better integrated than the 2019. Finish shows nice length with the acidity in particular helping the spice and mineral qualities to linger pleasantly. Drinking quite well now and should hold up over the next several years. I don't expect additional complexity, but balance should continue to improve with time. Next bottle for me will be Q1 2024.

September 25, 2023 - This is quite a serious Pinot, and very much unlike the rest of the offerings from Heart & Hands (which I also love), at least stylistically. Much more concentrated, whole bunchy, grippier tannins. I think you could easily put this up against relatively premium offerings from California or even Burgundy and no one would even bat an eye in terms of quality. That said, I do think you might be paying a bit more for it here -- in any case, a really eye-opening wine for anyone who doesn't take the Finger Lakes seriously, especially when it comes to reds.

July 1, 2023 - Medium color for an FLX pinot. Cherries and plums. Well balanced with a long finish.

May 28, 2023 - Delicious. 13.8% ABV. Red fruits, moderate acidity and tannins. A great wine for a nice dinner
