Community Tasting Notes 1

September 8, 2018 - Bdays at ESKL. Tasted blind.
Appearance some sediments, deep intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with a bouquet of sauvage earth, forest floor, red plums, leather, chalky minerality. Developed.
on the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of leather, meat, red plums, dark red cherries, savoury earth, chalky minerality. Long finish.
Very good quality. Clearly an aged masculine Grand Cru. I was guessing maybe a 2003 Mazis-Chambertin or Latricieres-Chambertin.
Time to drink up and enjoy. Aged Burg goodness.
