April 21, 2024 - This was a great bottle. Similar to my 94P notes but a notch better! So good!

February 18, 2024 - There are bottle variations. My third bottle and a different one again. Nice fruit, mint and chocolate like the previous one. But too much acidity that overpowers the fruit and may have dried out this bottle in a couple of years.

January 22, 2024 - A great wine from a great vintage. The wine shows, that South African wines can age beautifully. And it still needs 1 hour of decant. Black and red cherry, blackcurrant, a hint of mint and dark chocolate. Nice acidity and smooth, well integrated tannins. Still youthful and enjoyable over the next 3-5 years - at least.

November 26, 2023 - That bottle was unfortunately corked. However, it showed that a clean bottle would be very nice with a potential between 92-93 points.

January 11, 2009 - Very bordeaux nose of a sprinkling of rose petals and a whiff of savory cherry smoke.Great freshness of berries and reasonably expressive purity of fruits. I guessed a 50/50 blend of cabernet and merlot with detectable softness on the palate. However, the gentle firm structure felt more like a st Julien and I had guessed an 01 or 04. Shockingly fresh for a 91 south african! Very suprising quality and price. Plus 2 pts for the shocking revelation of what South African wines can do.
