Community Tasting Notes 3

March 9, 2018 - Mostly black raspberry, dried cranberry, cherry, medium plus acid, nice front palate and finish but lacks mid palate. Tannins integrated and hardly noticeable oak. Very clean wine, no barnyard or forest floor. Group consensus was hold for another 5 years before opening the next bottle. Drank well and very pleasant.

January 14, 2017 - Chef's Choice Dinner in the North Loop: A Night of Burgundy (David's Place, Mpls): Medium dark red color. Decanted for 20 minutes and had about 3 hours open before poured; drank 1+ glass over 90 minutes. Fairly open nose with sauvage, florals, spice, red fruits. Tangy red berry and tart cherry palate, with a soil driven minerality, loam, moderate tannins yet, and a medium bodied frame. Very good, and we probably should have chilled these last couple down a tad before serving. 92+pts.

June 5, 2010 - Joao introduces the Dark Side with 2001 Grand Crus (Chez Rosa-Teixeira, London): Joao introduces the Dark Side with 2001 Grand Crus, London June 5th 2010
(side by side Louis Remy Chambertin, A-F Gros Richebrourg & Vougeraie Musigny)

The first of the Grand Crus and a fine showing indeed. Feels ready to drink now. well rounded and fine with a medium finish. Maybe its because it was eclipsed later fromt he other two but the wine lacked a bit of complexity and depth. Mild on the nose. Dnt get us wrong this is a wine that is very enjoyable however maybe we were expecting something more at this level.
