November 18, 2023 - Not a vineyard that I'm familiar with, but this is very Monvigliero in style with intense stem-spice and elegant, medium-bodied fruit. A Burgundy-lovers rendition of Nebbiolo for sure. At peak.

November 18, 2023 - Nebbiolos, white truffles, Volume VIII (Chicago, IL): Opened at 7:30am, double decanted around 4pm. I liked this a lot more than the others at the able -- this was about as stem-inclusion Burgundy as it comes for nebbiolo. (In hindsight, the nose was very close to a bonus 1993 Dujac MSD later in the evening.) The palate arguably was a bit thin, but some iberico helped fill in the gaps. It's a very distinctive style that is arguably atypical for Barolo, but I really liked that intense stemmy quality. Fully mature; not convinced there's too much further upside to aging this. Classic Burlotto Verduno.

March 30, 2023 - Opened one hour in advance. Aromas of mushrooms with red fruit underneath. Flavors of red fruit, leather. Plummy notes in the finish. Mature, balanced, classic. Probably at it's peak.

May 8, 2020 - The 1996 opened as a truffle bomb. If you like truffles this is a wine for you, smelling and tasting of the gem of the fungi family. Over the course of three days the truffle notes integrated well, allowing the ripe cherry fruit to emerge. Again, not a super complex wine, though more complex than the 1995, this did however exhibit a certain degree of finesse, was longer on the palate than that wine, and exhibited superb fine grained tannins which softened over time lending the wine a certain almost silkiness.
