April 9, 2024 - Really beautiful drinking chardonnay right now. Tropical fruit up front with a decent amount of acidty and yet a creamy backbone to it. Lovely pear notes at the mid palette and finish

February 12, 2024 - A strange and very flat wine where apricot nut takes over. On the nose the wine is mildly tropical fruit and a distinct wood barrel funkiness. In mouth the wine is totally flat and lacking any freshness. Mild notes of pear fruit at most.

I love Martinelli but would avoid these chardonany's. Maybe the year ? Maybe the fermentation ? But something is wrong here. The "Nutty" note of pecan and apricot nut is strange.

September 13, 2023 - Disappointing - I love martinelli wines - they’re my favorite winery. That said, this one didn’t hit the mark - pear and oak flavors, but not well integrated. Update 10/2/23 - had a new bottle with tuna casserole. Delicious! Increased my rating from 87 to 90. The oak went from bitter to integrated and the finish was longer. Not sure whether the other bottle was flawed, or this food pairing was just much, much better.

June 7, 2023 - They manage about 750 acres of vineyards, and the majority of the fruit is sold to other wineries. 10% of the production they keep and put under their own label.

Full bore and powerful chardonnay fruit on the nose. Three or sometime four vineyard sites blended together. For some reason, rather complex to me in its powerfully molded self. Rich and nutty on the palate, with some richness across the palate.

Mostly Fort Ross Seaview as an appellation.

October 19, 2022 - Comes from Fort Ross - Seaview. 6th generation just started working at the winery. One of the oldest family owned businesses in California. Everything comes from grapes that they grow. They sell 90% of their fruit to other wineries. Full and round here. Has a little bit of that plastic lees thing on the nose. They make 30 skus but 20 of them never leave the winery. And a bit of nuttiness as well. A blend of single vineyards. Most of their wines are single vineyards and then get blended down. Full malo and new oak, powerful.
