Community Tasting Notes 14

  • Dancing with bottles Likes this wine: 90 points

March 23, 2024 - Still in perfect shape, even youthfull and lively. colour like a young wine.
Tanins are perfectly integrated. Fruity and nicely structured, just a bit onedimensional, what holds back my scoring.

December 30, 2014 - Best bottle (and of course my last) yet. Full brooding mature fruit, lots of tannins and some wood. Great finish. Really paired will and stood up with the Pasta alla Norma (family recipe, fried eggplant red sauce w/scamorza) .

  • Zinfanforlife Likes this wine: 91 points

March 8, 2014 - It is a shame that someone would give this wine a 71 just to bring down the scores. This wine was full of fruit, and is ready to drink right now. Nice smooth tannin's, and the alcohol was not to present because of them. Well worth the money spent.

September 6, 2013 - Decanted for an hour... still lots of drying tannins present, I think they will outlive the fruit. Nice violets with purple berry, feels like a lot of wood on the finish, and its a bit angular but there is an interesting twang in the finish, noticed a little eucalyptus too.

  • Penguino212 Likes this wine: 89 points

May 10, 2013 - 89 with a 90+ nose. Really hit it out of the park with this recommendation. Purple fruit, rich saddle leather, earthy well balanced and integrated. Super food wine. (high alcohol prevents a higher score). One hour out of the bottle is spot on (no aeration).
