October 15, 2023 - The cork was rock solid and broke, with a fair effort to extract the remainder. I was put off a bit by a pungent nose and thin, slightly rust color. The wine was actually quite good, with complex character, cherry, spice and some licorice on finish.

May 4, 2022 - Nice rich dark Cherry, smooth long finish. Great after short decant. Probably at or a bit past its prime, so will enjoy this more regularly.

March 16, 2021 - Perfect drinking window for this wine, paired with pasta and prosciutto and butter sauce, worked very well.

May 30, 2019 - Red cherry, tar, balsamic, medium body, black currant, soft chewy tannins, raisin, earthy, leather, elegant velvety powerful Barolo, superb long finish!

May 17, 2014 - Initially, this looked older than 10 years, which had me worried and initially it seemed a little thin. With a little time, it seemed to beef up a bit, which was a happy surprise. Deep red fruits, with very pronounced spice notes over a foundation of leather and tobacco. This was a very good wine, but medium body and average length on the finish kept this from being a real "wow" wine. However, because it wasn't overpowering, it was really versatile with a pretty wide array of food and was pretty perfectly paired with a pasta with pecorino & black pepper.

2004 Barolo Tasting, Episode #443, 4/14/2008 (link) 92 points(Renato Corino Barolo Arborina) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-little tight; a pretty cinnamon component (somewhat common in Barolo); little hints of roasted red pepper; & classic sour cherry; TASTE-far more elegant; REALLY impressed w/ the silkiness of this wine; this wine is good; great complexity; very dry; great length; huge explosion; little oregano/sage/basil on the mid-palate that goes into this gorgeous, silky, long, extracted, cherry sauce reduction sauce finish; but great back-end tannins & structure; can easily last 15-20 years in the cellar; I'm in love w/ the plum skin and the cranberry; if you want to experience a classic textbook Barolo, seek this out; AG-92; GV-92
