    April 9, 2024 - Aired for 45 minutes.

Eye: Crystaline ruby-red center to a medium pink rim.

Nose: Musky and perfumed. Cacao powder, caramel, touch of red fruit. Earth, light booze.

Palate: Good acid, low tannin. Rich and mouth filling. Pomegranate. Tart cherry, sous bois. Bloody meat, mushroom, soy sauce. Bacon fat. Strawberry preserves.

Finish: Meat, soy, umami, burnt caramel. Lingering tart red fruit.

Overall: Some very nice Pinot drinking surprisingly well despite its relative youth.

March 25, 2024 - This needed a half hour in bottle to open up before we paired with salmon cakes and garbanzo bean salad. Purple-crimson color. Floral nose brings potpourri, blueberry pie, and strawberry blossoms. The palate is medium, round, and textured, bringing a nice mix of high-toned raspberries and sour rhubarb into a tannic, woody finish. This should be a nice a case study in finesse and precision in a few years, but is still developing now. Drink: 2026-2032. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 93

March 6, 2024 - From 75cl, opened 5 hours in ABC tasting room, Santa Barbara. Serious scent with plenty of savoury action even at this early stage of its development: consommé leather, bright red fruit and dark rose petals. The palate is thinner than the nose promises, with darker fruit, tannic backbone, leading to a short, brusque, even tarry finish. Great potential from 2026 onwards. $65 cellar door. 92P

January 13, 2024 - Light, approachable and with a strong edge. I love it.
