The acidity remains high with dark cherry and black pepper flavors. The heat of alcohol was more apparent this time.

July 9, 2009 - Sweet and ripe bing cherries, some kirsch, and a touch of spice on the nose, which carried over to the palate with the addition of some darker cherry flavors to round it out a bit. This is far more simple than the Santa Rita Hills bottling with less structure and less depth of flavor, but for the money ($17 on clearance) it is one of the better sub-$20 pinots out there. Probably wouldn't buy again especially at the regular price. Especially with the SRH on sale at just $3 more, it is a far better deal.

May 15, 2009 - Same light garnet, only 70% saturated. A little more rounded on the nose than last bottle. Green tea and pepper notes stil coming through on the nose with a little bramble and almond extract. Supple fruit and smooth, medium+ body. Not a long-term wine and it was nice while it lasted. (4+10+16+7) = 87
