October 30, 2010 - Totally delicious and proof of Alain Chabanon's skills in the vineyard and winery. The 2000 Merle aux Alouettes shows a rich palate of clay, limestone, mature figs, olives (!) and red berries. The tannins are nicely integrated and the finish lasts for some 40 seconds. The mid palate is a bit disappointing, it is simply to thin in comparison to rest of the wine. If you have any bottles left - drink up! Recommended.
