    April 20, 2024 - Beautiful Chablis!

Nice nose of apples a pineapple. Mouthfeel was full, not on the acidic side. Respectable lenght. I would definitely buy this again.

March 5, 2024 - Chablis as it should be. Un-oaked, not over-extracted and mineral driven. Very good for an entry level Chablis.

October 22, 2023 - Score based on day 2 tasting. Day 1 was a very ordinary Chablis — pleasant enough but nothing memorable. Day 2 saw the nose open and the lemon notes soften (almost key lime). There were also some ripe cantaloupe and peaches and cream notes. Still plenty of salinity and a fair bit of acidity. Will wait a year or two on the next bottle.

April 30, 2023 - In an era when to even use the term value in conjunction with Burgundy is an oxymoron if not an outright joke, Gilbert Picq continues to make relatively affordable wines true to their terroir. The '21 Vieilles Vignes is no exception, delivering authentic Chablis character and even a little depth for under $40 a bottle.

The color is a sparkling pale gold with some green highlights. The nose mixes apple and lemony citrus fruit with a nice smack of chalky limestone and saline minerality. Fruit is evident and even sneaky ripe, but so is the biting acidity that snaps everything into focus on the mid-palate and doesn't relent through the tart, refreshing, green straw finish (oh yeah the 12.5% acidity doesn't hurt matters one bit).

Crisp, honest, satisfying and great with lighter fare.

April 28, 2023 - Ripe apple and pineapple. Medium weight and laser like juicy acidity. Delicious.
