Community Tasting Notes 1

August 11, 2023 - The old adage it’s not the wine but the bottle holds true here. This is quite lovely wine from one of the older producers. Not sure if this too was raised in redwood as was the legendary 1970.

The wine itself is of course fully mature, but still showing decent amounts of red fruit, but also tertiary notes of smoke, camphor, anise and earth. Seamless on the palate, and the finish is surprisingly long and layered. The last bottle I tasted was at least ten years ago, and it seems to have changed little.
