Community Tasting Notes 4

March 5, 2024 - Popped and poured. Atypical Sangiovese character: lots of extremely dark
fruit, supported by muted savory notes. Not a strong effort in my opinion. Perhaps it would have benefitted from more air.
Note: much better on day two,

November 13, 2023 - The 18' is slightly different than the 17'. Despite being a similar Brunello aromatically with notes of cherry fruit, tobacco leaf and iron, this wine is lacking compared to my past tastings. In mouth it starts with that black cherry fruit but does not build much on that. Finishing notes include bay leaf and worn leather. Those salvage an otherwise "just ok" experience.

November 17, 2022 - Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello NYC. Medium garnet color. Nose has overtones of oak and alcohol with red berry fruit notes. Palate is nicely textured with tart cherry fruit that is slightly muted, this probably needed more air to open up. Medium long finish. Needs time or aeration.

November 11, 2022 - Nice and juicy, elegant style, focus on the red fruit. Some herbs, adds only complexity. Very fine.
