October 31, 2021 - Deep, dark garnet in color with clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of well developed & mature, ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of cedar, tobacco, earthy/dusty & floral notes, herbs, mint, minerals, spices & balsamic notes in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, developed & mature, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & dark plums with cocoa, herbs, minerals & spices. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing. At 30 years old, it appears to be heading past its pinnacle of development. Cork was clean & intact; fill was mid-neck.

June 25, 2018 - Fully mature Napa cab, now in early stages of decline. On the nose some notes of forest floor and strawberries macerated in balsamic vinegar. On the palate tannins are fully resolved and there is a hint of VA. Not a stunner by any means, but complemented some filets mignons nicely, and was even quite quaffable on its own. Not bad for a bottle that's been in my cellar for 22 years ... but I still wish I'd spend the $30.99 (in 1996 dollars) on some Burgs or now-hard-to-source Northern Rhones.

October 15, 2013 - Double Blind Wine Dinner @ Le Provençal (266 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL): The wine is Purple colored. The legs are slow. It smells like Blackberry, and Black Currant(cassis). The body is Medium/Full. The wine has Polished texture. The wine finishes Long. Jerry's wine.
