June 5, 2010 - Highly Rated vs. Underrated (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had chocolate and blackberry, tobacco and cherry, and a little bit of pepper. The palate was soft and slightly sweet, with blackberry and tobacco, pepper and mocha, and a good cherry finish.

September 4, 2009 - Somehow, my personal aversion to red wine blends, almost never applies to wines from Washington state. Generally, these wines by the nature of the latitude and sun minutes are well rounded. Then, evidently the blending process, makes them more well rounded. So, here we have a relatively basic, affordable offering, that almost hits the 90 point glass ceiling. Whatever they did, I like it. The dark fruit is ripe, but not overblown. Everything is balanced and integrated. The tannins are smooth and silky. We hardly feel the alcohol. The finish is slightly spicy with mocha and tobacco.

August 6, 2009 - Fruit-forward, a little sweet, some interesting flavors but flabby and unbalanced. No tannins.

September 19, 2008 - Wow...massive fruit bomb...I was sure this was predominately Merlot but was surprised to see it was mostly Cab Sauv...was smooth and chocolatey and fruity. Paired lovely with some nice Pecorino and balsamic. $20 might be pushing it for this ... but it was a damn nice bottle and I'm glad I've got another.
