November 19, 2022 - 2022: Top Ten Wines; 1/1/2022-12/31/2023 (Redwood City, CA): Having been intrigued by the power and depth of the Belle Fiore 2017 Merlot, which seemed like a solid blend wine, have been anxiously awaiting this arrival, and in the case of the Numinos Reserve, it does not disappoint.

1.5h air, and then improved quite a bit in glass. Deep ruby color. Blackberry and cassis on the nose, alongside smoke, oak, and pepper. Smooth and succulent, full-bodied; tart black berries and cherry on the palate, with a lingering smoky finish. This has both grace, depth and medium-term aging potential, especially to allow the firm, chewy tannins to calm themselves a bit.

Will rebuy, stash some of these away, and look forward to seeing how this develops over the next decade.
