August 15, 2021 - Wow, quite an experience here. Big, structured and tannic. The colour (quite dark) and taste expressed a youthfulness. Flavour wise was a dry and a tad closed. Thyme, pepper, black/red currants and bilberry. Tasted like a great wine that hadn’t released its true beauty but beguiling in its apparent quality. Everything was in balance and just in such good condition. Years in it still. (I saw another note drawing a parallel to Bordeaux-like and that’s not off the mark). This wine really shone over quality Willamette Pinot tasted at same time.

Lots of oak that masking some of the fruits, earth and some ripe, lightly stewed fruits, not really pretty. Good acidity entry, still dominating by oak, a bit rustic and edgy, there is good fruits at the mid palate as well as minerality, but again the oak masking the purity and distract a bit. Not something that I prefer.

November 3, 2018 - n opening, it was quite tannic, so I decanted it. Not the most expressive nose, mainly red berries with hints of leather at first, later acquiring some strawberry jam bits and bobs. Quite tight at first, it blossomed after an hour or so, into a full-bodied, quite rich mouthful of red berries and plums, then a brief wave of strawberries, before a sleek, slightly peppery finish. I don't have enough reference points from Burgundy to say if it's a good example or not, but we certainly enjoyed it - it's probably wrong to say so, but it reminded us of a good Pomerol.
