November 19, 2022 - This is a monovarietal wine of Côt (aka Malbec) from a very old massal selection. The label, which mentions 13% abv, makes me strangely think of the most intimate area of the female body. Don't you? The nose is winsome and expressive, full of scents of finely peppery red and black wild fruits as well as distinct floral notes (violets and a hint of roses). On the palate, the aromatic palette is also very pleasant and intense, with a good prominence of fresh fruits and again a strong fragrance of violets and a bit of licorice. A few turns of the pepper mill perfectly season and refresh its rich and almost “too much” profile. Composed of rustic tannins bringing chewiness, this wine fully assumes its kindly raw character. Lovers of finesse and elegance should move on. I must admit that I liked this stuff! It definitely makes me want to discover the many other cuvées from the estate. Drinking well now after a 2 hours' decant, but I think it's a one to cellar 2 or 3 more years.
