Community Tasting Notes 8

May 29, 2011 - Nice chardonnay with balance of summer fruits, melon and touch of oak. Medium yellow color. Stood up well in 7 chardonnay tasting beating out Jordan and 09 Cakebread but lagging DuMol (to be expected) and running neck and neck with 07 Ferrari-Carano. Wish I had more for casual summer evenings. 88 to 90.

January 11, 2011 - Some oak still sticking out when first opened and tasted. Left to stand open for about 1 1/2 hours before serving, and it was then well integrated with ample acidity and fruit. Very good with crab cakes and a spinach salad with fresh orange juice and balsamic dressing.

June 1, 2009 - Beautiful chardonnay with apple, citrus, butter, and just the right amount of weight.

May 12, 2009 - Bright yellow in color with plush, indulgent aromas of baked apple, poached pear, crushed yellow flowers and buttered toast. Big and full on the palate with rich fruit and sweet vanilla flavors, a touch of oaky astringency and a long finish.

January 22, 2009 - Reasonably well balanced, but a bit thin and a bit bitter. Ultimately above average, which is to say not overtly poor.
