April 20, 2024 - "Running" Club Oregon vs the World - Chardonnay & Pinot Noir (Al fresco in leafy West London): Pale colour. A bit more intensity on the nose, a very gentle vanilla not perhaps? And some lemon, almost candied lemon, lovely linearity and purity.

March 17, 2024 - Such a wow wine. So young with a bright future ahead.

White peach, sesame seed, lemon oil, light flowers. Incredible density and complexity to palate. One of the very few wines where I can actually feel the layers. Vibrant structure with great acidity that is linear and focused.

The problem is the word is already out on these wines. Underscoring this at 93 for now with upside to ~95 with time.

March 17, 2024 - Just lovely - right now, an understated elegance to the wine, but there’s still so much going on beneath the surface…the future is very bright for this wine. Juicy meyer lemon, honeysuckle, roasted salty almonds, white peach, with a gentle flinty reduction framed by a lovely watery acidity to the wine. I don’t know what else to say other than these wines are charming, captivating, imminently crushable, and I don’t think you can find better domestic chards than what Seth is producing these days. The white burg comparison always comes to mind, but going forward I will refrain from using it as these wines chart their own unique course with a quality to them worthy of standing on the world stage. A solid 93 now, but certainly with a healthy amount of upside potential.

March 15, 2024 - 8 mos since my last note on this, very consistent, but at this slightly young and awkward stage, showing more musk, patchouli, white pepper and new oak than my last bottle. I do believe this will be two points better in two or three years. Will drink Marine until then , his pink chardonnay for fun and with salmon, and Seth’s impressive XOmni until this comes together. Worked with fresh stone crabs tonight; anything would have, but I was quietly longing for the salinity and minerality of Marine.

August 3, 2023 - Tangerine, light caramel, smoked paprika, musky talc, cardamom, green apple, thyme and crushed white stone on the nose. Medium body, not at all heavy or rich, focused white pepper acidity framing white peach, kiwi, musk melon and lemon cream flavors. More weight than Chablis, less overt oak than Chassagne , I default to superb Puligny. Will peak in 3-5 years, but its perfectly wonderful now with a pan seared Kurobata pork chop w thyme and garlic, or a buttery lobster roll. Not Seth’s showiest wine (see X Omni) but truly impressive.
