January 29, 2008 - Rather dark chianti, nice. On the nose, some licorice, some cotton candy, and definitely some heat. Much, much sweeter on the nose than it is on the palate. Pretty dry chianti; nevertheless not austere. Dry but resourceful and pleasant, with very unique sangiovese tannins, and some room for evolution. Long tart finish. Good acidity makes it a definitely pasta wine.
