July 13, 2006 - Azzurri Celebratory Dinner (Tuscany Cafe, Toronto): Dark garnet colour with black tinges. Aromas of black plums, orange rind, black tea, blackberry. Medium-full bodied, with black tea, leather, currant, orange rind. Moderate finish, 30-35s, with black licorice.

June 14, 2006 - Caroline Wine Shop - Italy, Piedmont (Carolines Wine Shop): (Tasted Blind): Complex aromas of liquorice, worn leather, mineral, fruit cake and hints of squashed red and blackberries.
A lively acid on entry with firm tannins and a generous (highish) alcohol. Grippy with plenty of red berries, rhubarb and some undergrowth. Fairly compact example. Medium to long, the wine is lovely and closes with more rhubarb qualities.
