April 12, 2020 - Hmm...not sure why this effort by Cline gets much lower ratings by the community. I am giving it 92 points. Perhaps it is time of consumption/time in bottle, or not optimal storage conditions elsewhere. In my case, this Mourvedre places highly for all metrics, nose, color, mouth feel, total palate perception. It is notches better than Cline's small berry Mourvedre, and places amongst the best of Mourvedres, although not quite as remarkable as Thomas Coyne's Mourvedre (no one beats him, no one, not anywhere in the world! If you know Thomas Coyne, you know what I mean!) . This version (Cline) went so well with rack of lamb, roasted sweet potatoes, and roasted brussels sprouts, that it had the impact of something that was designed for this specific meal, like a missing puzzle piece, found! Outstanding! Great work of art by Cline!

January 9, 2017 - Discovered amidst the 2013 Cline in my Cellar. Aerated from and back into the bottle, with a 30 minute pause in a pitcher (open to air). Delicious wine, fruit still intact, tannins quite soft as expected, nicely balanced acidity.

April 7, 2015 - My favorite inexpensive wine. This is the worst vintage of it however as it tastes overripe, disjointed and unbalanced.

October 26, 2012 - Complex with lots of flavors competing for their place. A little burly and disjointed compared to some previous vintiges. Drink or hold

Mourvedre Wine Tasting, Episode #603, 1/5/2009 (link) 86 points(Cline Ancient Vines Mourvedre) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-a hint of cinnamon; rustic, rusty nail; some beautiful plum; little hints of pepper and a tad of clove; TASTE-big strawberry pie exploding; some oak which is fine; reminds me of a diner (strawberry syrup on the mid-palate); some grilled meat gaminess on the back-end; a charred Pittsburgh steak component; raspberry & strawberry jam on the attack and finish; very fruit driven; a little fruity and oaked for me, but a good play for Zin and Shiraz lovers; GV-86
