April 20, 2024 - Tasting at Domaine Weinbach (Kaysersberg, France): Light yellow. Perfumed petrol aromas. Less weighty and more lemony than the 2022. Good stone fruit, outstanding acidity, and some minerality, but the intensity just is not there, and the finish is transient and unconvincing.

December 14, 2023 - Quite good, well-balanced Alsace dry Riesling.

November 9, 2023 - 2021 Riesling Schlossberg GC Cuvee Ste. Catherine. The wine comes from vines that are around 70 years old, from the middle part of the vineyard. For me, the most complete wine from the current collection. Already deep, intense and clear as a bell on the nose. The high minerality can already be smelled in the form of flinty, smoky notes. The palate is also intense, full-bodied and rich. At the same time, it has a lot of tension, enormous minerality, salinity and a well-defined acidity that makes the wine animating, juicy and fresh despite its intensity. The fruit shows yellow stone fruit, some tropical hints and dried herbs. However, the rhythm of this intense and complex wine is determined by the mineral beat. 96/100 2023-2050

August 14, 2023 - More intense exotic fruit and mineral finish than all of the other Weinbach Rieslings served before it. Pear. Punchy acidity. Long finish. This is already approachable but think will be even better in a few years. 93 for now

August 12, 2023 - whites from Austria, Alsace, and the Mosel: light straw colour and light-bodied in appearance. the nose is perfumed with white blossoms, fresh apricots, and light herbs. gentle on the entry, the flavours unfold with clarity and precision as they gain in concentration. pithy mineral veins, lime citric streaks, flashes of honeyed sweetness, and touches of spice add to the experience. long, silky finish.

elegance and subtlety are the calling card of this Riesling; give it a handful of years at least to then reap its rewards.

14% AbV (well integrated); ~5g/L of RS; from 60-70y.o. vines mid slope of the Schlossberg Grand Cru; took an entire year to complete fermentation
