October 21, 2023 - Minor deposit. Deep red. Very slight browning of the edge.
Wonderful right, Brunello flavours, reflective of a great year.
Strong, rich, dark fruited flavours, showing surprisingly little bottle development on Day 1. Finish is showing signs of softening, suggesting it should be drunk soon. Day 2 saw it still holding up, though now showing more bottle devt. characters. I think the primary fruit was still so dominant on day 1 such that it hid the development. Overall, a wonderful wine and an honour to be able to sample a great wine from a past great vintage.

May 26, 2023 - Deep ruby color, nose of tobacco leaf, turned earth, and black cherry. Full bodied on the palate and juicy with chewy tannins, good presence and length.

January 15, 2023 - Prior bottle was 11 months ago and while the wine continues to show quite well, it was a small step down from my truly impressive prior bottle. Black cherry, earth and light spices on the nose and while pretty, wasn't quite as aromatic as my prior bottle. Medium bodied with rounded black cherry upfront, adding plum through the middle and lightly tart black cherry on the backside. Mid-body was silky and elegant - the clear highpoint of the wine. Backside continues to show good integration between the mid-body fruit and the fine grained tannins, acidity and tart notes behind. Bottle was opened about 60 minutes ahead of time , but was very drinkable from PnP. Continues to show great balance and expressiveness of the mid-body fruit. Just doesn't have quite the complexity, depth or layers of some of my prior bottles. Should continue to drink well over the next few years, but if this bottle is a good indication, additional time isn't a benefit and these wines should be enjoyed now to experience the heights this wine has to offer.

February 21, 2022 - Opened one of these about a month ago and it was decent but not nearly as good as I had hoped. This bottle, on the other hand, was stunning! If there was a point at which I thought a wine was in it's perfect drinking window, this would be it. Well balanced and absolutely delicious with well developed secondary flavors. Hopefully my final two bottles are like this one.
