May 11, 2024 - Some bottle variation here. Previous two were chemical, flabby, no fruit.
However, These two were typical of the profile and delicious, although still a step down from when they were 100% touriga. Maybe just the northern lights influenced……
April 19, 2024 - Not your sister-in-law’s boxed Rose. This is a bit more serious. Another “Tracker” called it “heft”. Totally agree. Definitely strawberries, Georgia peach, and maraschino cherries on the nose. Maybe some melon? Weighty in the mouth, but with nice acids to balance. Finishes a touch green. Nice but not my favorite.
April 13, 2024 - The Arnot-Roberts Rose 2022 is a delightful wine with a vibrant, pink hue that hints at its robust character. The aroma is enticing, with notes of fresh strawberries, peaches, and a subtle hint of rose petals. On the palate, it is wonderfully balanced, with a refreshing acidity that complements its fruit-forward flavor profile. The finish is long and satisfying, with a lingering taste of summer fruits.
April 7, 2024 - Some small tartrate crystals presented on cork and in wine. Strawberry and red fruit, but quite light overall. Quaffable.
March 22, 2024 - Petit Crenn (Hayes Valley, San Francisco): Nose: White and pink florals, light grass and soils, sweet and light raspberries, and white gooseberries without any of that funk they usually have.
Palate: Bitter red flower petals, bitter light minerals in a low running creek, and subtle fresh fruits.
Lithe, bitter and floral. Don't expect too much.
February 25, 2024 - First rosé of the year. Translucent light pink-orange. Fragrant herbal melon. Not as precise as this sometimes is, with less acidity but more heft and softly textured. Some faded melon and salinity.
February 4, 2024 - Salmon color
Medium aromas of strawberry/ watermelon rind and fresh herbs
Medium bodied with palate of cherry and watermelon
Medium acidity and medium alcohol with average finish
Pleasant but I find this a little lacking in acidity
January 14, 2024 - The cork had a small collection of wine diamonds.
Eye: Light to medium copper.
Nose: Red berries, light cream note. Slight petrol note. The nose is pretty muted.
Palate: Crisp acidity. Strawberries and cream. Light strawberry. Some green apple.
Finish: Medium length. Watermelon candy, citric acid.
Overall: It’s like Tavel without garrigue.
January 2, 2024 - (tasted after some slight warming; shiny tartrates on the cork)
red berries and herbs on the nose. subtle layers of cherry laced with pithy minerality and bright acidity. good density and medium-plus finish. great aperitif.
December 12, 2023 - Coravin sample. Color pale salmon. Nose has some peach with a whiff of sulfites. Swishing shows acid structure but super slippery fruit and a med length finish. Sipping shows same with that same matchstick wang. Disappointing compared to last vintage I think.
