February 27, 2024 - Dinner with the wine group (Sole Ristorante, San Mateo): Medium ruby-purple; high intensity aromatics, plum fruit, intense minerality and graphite, smoky; palate is medium bodied, consistent smokiness, medium-plus acidity, balanced alcohol; medium length finish. 90-91 Well made wine. Maybe a Spanish wine, like Mencia? Surprisingly a burgundy! Really nice for the price.
On retaste after unblinding, this was an excellent Pinot/burgundy. Sappiness and vibrancy combo is truly a joy, and this shows a ton of strawberry/red fruit. 91 -

February 10, 2024 - Solid wine for the price, quite good with medium weight and classic burgundy notes. Not going to win any competitions on complexity but at $45, quite a good quaff.
