  September 18, 2014 - Heitz, Heitz, Heitz and Heitz: Nose of madeira, raisins. The wine was almost a bit oxidized and reminded more of a Sherry than a Port. I am not sure if this was a representative bottle as it showed quite a bit of seapage.

  December 2, 2004 - Roy Hersh's 1990 & older tasting of "Wines that don't suck" (Sammamish, WA, USA): A dessert blend of "Mission Grapes", this shows raisin and walnut (that was Rod's descriptor as I recall and I liked it) on the nose. The palate is almost like maple syrup and very reminiscent of that flavor profile with lots of caramel. The finish is searing and hot, less enjoyable.

  October 15, 1995 - Caramel and honey on the nose and palate, creamy texture, lovely rich taste that goes great with bread pudding and crème brulee. Bottles purchased from Butterfield auctions and Chicago Wine company auctions.

  January 31, 1992 - Sipped over 10 days into February, settles tummy and is very pleasant after dinner and a long finish.

  January 24, 1992 - Opened for the wine group after dinner. Great rich sipping wine that showed smooth almost silky texture in the mouth full of wine.
