November 15, 2023 - Disgorged February 2023. 100% Pinot Noir, no dose and no sulfur. I have had a # of bottles of the 2016, which when it is on, it's gorgeous and top class. However, I've had a few more advanced bottles of that wine, too. When I saw the 2017 offered, decided to give one a go. Opened this yesterday. When first opened and through the first small glass, I would swear that it was Chardonnay I had opened. Tangerine, honeyed apple were very present. But as the night went on and I did several more ounces, the wine started to show more complexity/structure, a zestiness. Revisiting a day later, and letting a lot of the chill from the fridge wear off, finally some cranberry comes through that wasn't here yesterday. Snappy but not austere like pure cranberry can be, but instead more fruity, juicy. And the Chard-like qualities of yesterday have backed off a lot, although there is a mango note here today, just enough to notice. What's here is a lot of golden apple, plus the cranberry and a juicy style. The citrus is more savory today too. There is a remnant of something cinnamon here, just enough to add a savory brown spice note that lightly lurks. Overall, I like this as there is palate weight that seems juicy and welcoming, a notch or two below the 2016 but still retaining some of the gorgeous 2016 generosity. Overall, this is gonna be a drink soon style, a fleshier version of Concordance.

September 4, 2023 - Brilliant champagne from Courtin.

Bouquet is more on the citrus fruit side (Yuzu, mandarin) with nice creamy brioche notes.
Interesting how this champagne will age, since it is without sulfur. Probably drinking really nicely right now, due to this fact.
