Community Tasting Notes 1

December 27, 2007 - Drank after decanting for 4 hrs: Very dark garnet color, big aromas of sweet / jammy blackberries, plums, grapes and strawberries. Very new-world style, fruit forward berry flavors with a somewhat artificial sweetness. Mild to moderate tannins and some heat from the alcohol (15.4%). Long finish, but the aftertaste is rather disjointed with a vegetal bitterness. I remember this tasting better at the winery ... or maybe my palate is just becoming more educated.
