February 12, 2023 - This was the first vintage of Completer, the autochthonous grape from the region. Only about two dozen producers out there produce a completer with only between 3ha of wines planted in total. This 1997 showed that the wines seem indestructible, also thanks to the very high acidity backbone. This is certainly a wine that pairs well with lots of different food.
TN: Quite intense nose with lots of crushed rock at the core. Some orchard fruit shining through too. And some slight smoky notes. On the palate there is a lot more fruit, fresh orchard fruit in addition to the minerality core. Very airy texture but with a strong, pronounced but round acidity. This didn’t show particularly complex but with high precision and a high elegance and incredibly fresh and young. Impressive. Others in the room, more familiar with the grape and bigger fans of it, were quite ecstatic about this wine.
