July 7, 2023 - I had an order come in from the recent Chianti release at LCBO, so of course I had to open several and compare.
Fantastic CCGS. Notes of ripe cherry, leather, strawberry, cranberry and oak. Opened up beautifully in the glass and had a medium length, yet pleasant finish.
Light/med bodied, supple tannins, ripe and smooth. Very balanced acidity.
This could have used 45-60min of decanting, but I did not want to wait. Overall a solid bottle, though it is not overly cheap. I would sip again. -
