    May 19, 2024 - Tasting at winery.

2021 Hyland vineyard, Coury clone. McMinnville AVA

Kind of a reddish purple. Black & red fruit on nose, distinctively darker than most of the red of this tasting. BlackBerry, baked oysters, stone minerality, nice complexity.

    92/100

January 19, 2024 - Oregon Trip-Day 1 (Here and there, Willamette Valley): Red center, light edge. All pyrazine and stems on the nose-quite high toned. Delicate with some flesh and sap. Very good savory/sweet balance, a dollop of cola, fluid and complex with excellent acidity and quite a tannic bite. Already very enjoyable but it has time in hand.

    December 3, 2023 - With Ryan

Red fruited, with rose, spice, and pastille on the nose. Supple yet serious on the palate. Grace and depth. More of th esme pretty red fruits, spice and florals on the palate with some cooling herbal back notes and a sense of minerality and focus. A little loaminess not he back end adds t it all. Youthful and I suspect with a lot of promise.

October 11, 2023 - 2021 Oregon Pinots Blind: My 4th, group's T3rd. Like the McKinlay, this is a tick darker fruited than the 'reddest' wines on the table; notably less sweet than them, too. Very savory, better concentration than many other the other wines; though its only medium bodied and has good acid, it has a surprising amount of astringent tannin that I didn't love - a touch rustic on the finish, almost like black tea. Very good nonetheless.

April 22, 2023 - Med ruby color. Youthful and med(+) aromas of red cherry, sour cherry, black olive, quiche, vanilla. Med body, dry, high acidity, med(-) tannins, med alcohol, long finish. Fruit driven but quite savory for volcanic soil (McMinnville AVA). Maybe slightly bitter on the palate. Drinking well but should age.
