January 26, 2009 - Color (5/5) is a translucent black cherry color of an aged wine. Nose (11/15) was a bit flat on opening, but the cherry cola nose comes to life after a bit of time. Not a punch in the nose, but you can tell it used to be. On the palate, a soft entry with a slow crescendo to the long finish of dark cherry cola and tea (14/20). This wine still has something to it (7/10). Definitely what a 17-year-old California PN should be doing about now. I imagine it might have a few years left, but drink up now. Why risk missing out?
