December 30, 2023 - I’m loving the red spice and leather, with dried cranberries, brown mustard, ripe plums and marble. Such astounding form, with ripe, grainy tannins. This is a mere baby, with staying power and agility. With the ability to age, I am impressed with how open this is today. In a way this is relaxed. Pagani did not disappoint in 2021. This is the best (it is) Alicante yet. So unique and close to full-bodied. If you can find this, buy it without question. Seriously lovely and unique. The best Alicante the I have ever tasted…and I have tasted barely any. Drink now - 2035.

March 9, 2023 - Tasted from barrel 5/28/22. 93 - 95. When a wine is great, it is great. No matter how primal this might seem, it is a lot more complete and delicious than you’d think for this notoriously long-lived wine. There have been more Alicante Bouschet as of late. This will enforce your gratitude.
