July 7, 2022 - Coravin'ed this bottle three times since 2013, last accessed it on 3-26-14...finally popped cork tonight! Leaked a little after accessing in 2014, but has not leaked at all since. Brown tea in color...very pleasant nose of sweet apricot marmalade, peach tea, caramelized apples, saffron threads. Hmmm..it's not dead! Still very similar to my last note...very mellow aged Sauternes-esk...still has some bright orange acid to lift the dried fruits...creme brûlée crust, aged honey, botrytis...some savory minerals...unsweetened tea...really drinks like an aged savory sticky as I noted before...some bitters and dried honey on the finish. Crazy...it's STILL enjoyable! Not something I want to drink a lot of...but a nice contemplation for sure. I guess this might serve as a testament for the devises ability...but I'm still not a fan of opening quarter filled bottles of wine...I am, however, a fan of this wine...and what has endured.

February 24, 2020 - Dinner at MingHin (Chicago, IL): Sweet and sappy, with a surprisingly pleasant palate. This has definitely some of the lychee tones of the grape here, but it's not too sickly. The palate as expected has low acidity, but this is relatively balanced and still drinkable in small quantities.

January 17, 2016 - A bit darker than two years ago but notes are fairly similar. Honeycomb, apricot, figs are still present but now there's a clear note of lychee on the nose. It is sweet on the palate and two years later it feels denser, more viscous but there's enough acid to keep it in balance. Having it with Ped Makham and the sweetness in the sauce makes the wine feel dry, the tannin on the wine helps with the fat on the duck. It is a better pairing than last time. For a twenty year old wine, this has held up wonderfully. Glad I popped it. If you have any left, this may be the time to do the same.

November 22, 2014 - Med-dark gold. Remarkable nose of honeyed apricots and citrus. Sweet, but has acidity and weight to avoid any hint of cloying. Rich mouth feel with long legs in the glass. Would be great with desserts but also a curry or a baked ham. Very, very long on the finish. Excellent.

March 26, 2014 - I've CV'd this bottle a couple times in the last 3 months…..darker copper in color….shows sweet and rich apricot, pineapple, grapefruit, orange marmalade….age has definitely set in with a little oxidization….but still some nice fresh citrus acidity(blood orange, grapefruit)….wonderful creamy feel ala an aged Sauternes….some burnt sugar, dried apricot, clover honey, cold tea, savory minerals, florals. Drinks more like a savory aged sticky…..holding on with some nice complexities and tastiness. A contemplating sipper kind of wine.
