June 29, 2019 - 98% Zinfandel, 2% Petite Sirah, 16.0% alcohol. Lovely deep garnet color in glass with some browning. Very nice overripe Zin bouquet. Concentrated ripe fruit on palate with dusty tannins and faint oxidation. Very little sediment. Making old bones. Drink up!

May 2, 2017 - 1999 RIDGE YORK CREEK SONOMA VALLEY LATE PICKED ZINFANDEL [2 btls]- thick and chewy, molasses like sweet plum and prune flavors; intense; a drop on the end of the tongue was enough for me.

December 17, 2016 - The inside of the cork disintegrated completely, while the edges were firmly stuck to the bottle's neck.
It drank alright for several hours exhibiting a lean profile with good tension. Didn't come through as "sweet" at all. 16% ABV.

April 24, 2016 - Much denser and sweeter than the 1.2% residual sugar would suggest, with strong toasty oak lending mocha tones over a grapey, cola, blackberry juice character. Big, high alcohol, and very ripe but hardly a fat sloppy thing, drinks more like a lean Recioto or perhaps Banyuls, but paired to a smoky brisket, collards, and sweet corn bread this was a lively, capable pairing. Very enjoyable as we used it, mature, ready to drink but probably able to hold though I see no reason to.

October 16, 2015 - Beautiful. Nose is fruit forward and bright still which is impressive after 16 years. The bottle notes even suggested the fruit would only have 5 years longevity. Plum and raspberries. Pleasantly slightly sweet. Would pair well with spicy food. Long finish with a touch of aged tannins. Good acid to balance the sweetness.
