January 30, 2024 - Garrigue, pepper, flowers. and spicy red fruits start the wine off. Things get even better with all of the soft, elegant, sweet, spicy, red and dark red, peppery berries on the palate and in the soft, lush, finish. Drink from 2024-2032.

November 26, 2023 - Nice Ruby color. Sweet Cherry Woody peppery spicy earthy bouquet. Moderate concentration. Bell pepper, hint of spice, dark red fruit, Tangy fruit flavor. Some oak or wood also. A decent CDP but I do not find it very exciting. The bulk of my score is based upon the density and concentration of fruit. I've had this now five times and had the same experience all five times. This pales in comparison to the le hurvulent cdp. Definitely worth trying a bottle but I would not stock up on this one. The old Vines version trans side by side was also somewhat one-dimensional like this one was but it was certainly a lot more concentrated and did have a little bit more complexity.

May 30, 2023 - The winery was founded in 1948.
Francis Usseglio, left Italy to come and work in Chateauneuf-du-Pape for a local winery. Francis then harvested his first wine in 1949. Once Francis Retired, his son Pierre took over the family business and increased the size of the Domaine dramatically.
Today the Domaine covers 39 hectares, with 24 hectares of red Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the winery is now run by Pierre's 2 sons: Jean-Pierre and Thierry Usseglio.
This wine is a blend of 80% Grenache Noir, 20% of Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault and Counoise.
Color is Medium purple. With aromas and flavors of Blackberries, Blueberrries, Black Currants, Raspberries, Black Pepper, Cloves, Charcuterie. Medium-bodied, Medium intensity, with a medium finish.
A nice smooth wine on the black fruits, that is pleasant to drink (and to try this appellation), I would like to see more complexity out of this bottle for the price (retails around $55-$60), QPR is not great, but worth trying nonetheless!
