November 4, 2018 - Beautiful bluish garnet color.
Light cedar and blueberry with drying tannins.
    Finished short.

September 10, 2018 - Sat in my cellar since Bit closed upon uncork, but opened up nicely after 30 minutes. No surprises. Decent mid-level Bordeaux.

December 30, 2017 - Quite a dark colour; soft, medium weight, quite elegant plum and blackberry fruit, and nicely rounded. Not especially intense or complex, but a very attractive mid-range claret which is probably at its peak now.

May 10, 2016 - The last bottle of my first half case of Rolland wines, bought in about 2003. Pop and pour and then followed for 2-1/2 hours. Still tight at first but has gotten consistently better over time. This is the best of the large number of Cru Bourgeois 2000 Bordeaux I bought, but they all seem to be approaching a good drinking window, at least for the Right Bank wines. I had a La Fleur de Jaugue last month that was also opening up. I think this cost about $19.

The palate is dark red fruit with a bit of earth and the beginnings of some saddle leather. Palate is very smooth, almost creamy, reflecting the Merlot profile. Although it is beginning to take on the complexity of age, I do not believe it is at its peak. This wine has really strong possibilities for the future as it continues to improve.

The interesting thing is that this wine was a big plus for until about 2006 and then shut down down and gave up less for at least five years. It grew and opened slowly but now it is really in a good spot. I wish I had more.
