Community Tasting Notes 14

March 19, 2012 - good dry cherry and red currant, mineral and pepper; the structure is outlasting the fruit, but quite nice with dinner.

March 23, 2011 - Consistent w/ prior notes. This was far more memorable four years ago.

January 27, 2011 - Had to try another bottle as my last notes were weak. I now concur w/ other tasters. The tannins overpower the fruit too much, and it seems like this bottle was better suited for early consumption. Regardless, it's definitely good, but needs a big decant to flesh out.

Recently, I put this up in a blind tasting of twelve wines (mostly Merlots and Cabs) from '92 to '04, most w/i the 30-50USD price range. At the end of the night, every wine was gone except for this and one other...just saying...

January 23, 2011 - Agree w/ note below that the tannins are still pretty big, but i think there's enough fruit to evolve over the short/medium term.

September 22, 2010 - strong tannins overshadowed the fruit, I wish I had consumed this one a year earlier.
