July 22, 2023 - Succulent, profound, resonant, with a perfect interplay of explosive power and smoothness. A Barbera with old vine gravitas and the clear tag of the 2020 vintage. A basket of rich cherry, plum, fig, pencil shave and a whiff of worn leather is opened over a wide forest floor. One of the best Barberas in the Alba DOC area I know.

A deep magenta color. A heady ripe and rich nose even for Barbera. Berry fruit, florals with some savory meaty notes in the back end. Quite ripe and broad, lacking definition and poise. Lacks freshness. Dark fruit snacks spice on the plate. Nigel says this one 'goes to 11". Large scaled and feels like a heady Zinfandel. If you dig the style it will likely make you happy, but far too much for me. NR due to stylistic aversion.
