May 5, 2024 - Still a markedly opaque purple. Remarkably youthful and intense nose of chocolate, licorice, dark cherries, peppery-spicy, cured meats and cranberry. Completely took me by surprise as to its wow factor. Intoxicating and more like an old Burgundy than a new world Merlot. The best old vintage QC wine I’ve ever tasted. The sappy blackberry, cherry-plum flavors are delicious and robust enough to marry with substantial food pairing. Professionally stored since release, this proved to be an timeless treat.

April 10, 2021 - It's been seven years since I had this. It's fully mature now. You can almost mistaken it for Bordeaux. Beautiful bottle.

March 8, 2015 - At first seemed to be showing the age too much, but definitely grew on me over time. Drank over 2 days, and very much enjoyed it. Big merlot, but not as big as some of the other Quilceda merlots we have had.

September 5, 2014 - I don't really like overextraction or hyperconcentration. This is the antithesis. At 14.9% alcohol, I am still amazed this can be so subtle. It isn't dull. It's actually spicy. But there's elegance and finesse on delivery. The fruit is present on the mid-palate but it isn't overwhelming. It finishes quite dry. What a lovely bottle. Enjoyed with steak but would probably go better with duck or game.
