Community Tasting Notes 2

December 30, 2023 - One of the few wines I’ve ever had that can stand up to cedar plank salmon. Not because the usual pairings don’t work, but for some reason my palate always tastes a metallic flavor with any wine with salmon. I didn’t get that here. I wasn’t blown away by the pairing, but the fact that I could drink it at all was a pleasant surprise. Either way, a delicious wine, but requires at least 60 mins air and is best served closer to cellar temp.

July 3, 2023 - Medium dark orange in color. Funky nose of apples, blood orange, spices, a bit of pear, and some honeydew. Palate is acid driven and structured. Sour apples, sour pears, honeydew melon, saline, and a bit of blood orange peel. Fine chalky tannin form on just before a two note finish. The finish starts with a short burst of bitter fruit, and then persists with chalk and saline with a little bit.
