Community Tasting Notes 4

May 7, 2024 - Deep ruby. Ripe and rounded with dark red berry fruit in a plush, velvety frame. Mid length, obviously still about the youthful fruit and some years off developmental complexity. Good with steak tartare.***

January 8, 2024 - The basic, entry level Sanford PN. This wine is all about primary and secondary characteristics, showing only the most basic flavors/aromas in both categories.

Ripe strawberries, ripe red cherries, cola, smoked wood, black licorice and vanilla on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas. Flavors are pretty consistent with the aromas - I get fruit and oak flavors, not much else. There's a lot of "cherry cola", and the fruits get a tad darker on the finish (more like black cherries.) Medium + intensity of flavors too.

Medium + body with medium acid and medium - tannins. As expected, pretty simple and definitely meant to drink now. I like Sanford, though. If you can find and afford them, I definitely recommend upgrading to some of their single site wines.

November 12, 2023 - Not as complex as others. Not worth getting again
