  July 28, 2010 - Southern Italy: Very open and familiar nose from the 40% Cab Sauv; capsicum, cassis, fragrant mint character. Pretty stout, some wood, mature and elegant. As this sat a distinct brown sugar element came out that was really impressive. A beautiful wine in a great place, though I couldn't tell you what Gaglioppo tastes like...Certainly one of my WOTNs

  December 8, 2004 - Year-End Wine Tasting -- Cellar Treasures (Trattoria Asti -- Austin): Interesting. Many people thought it was an italian, but I wasn't sure as I don't have a lot of experience with Italian wines. I did really like this wine though and at 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 60% Gaglioppo this was a big wine that displayed some amazing notes of dried raisins (Amarone-like) and rustic flavors.
